Possibilities

The possibilities

Replacing the packaging material is possible mainly because we have managed to keep the weight of the Styrofoam almost identical, so that there is no significant additional weight in the packaging. The low melting point motivated us to modify our La-1152® in order to make a hot glue stick out of it. This hot glue has the same organic properties as the original polymer and also has the advantage that it only has to be warmed up and not to be heated, which can cause burns on the skin, e.g. in children or sensitive surfaces. The greatest achievement, however, was to extrude the La-1152®. First the La-1152® was processed manually to get an ever thinner layer. Then we went a step further and processed the La-1152® with an extruder (see above). We were able to extrude it onto a wafer-thin layer and that without chemical plasticizers, which is unique! We went even further and did that La-1152® made so thin that it can be used as an adhesive film on plasters. For this purpose, natural nanoparticles were inserted through. With this nanoparticles it is possible to warm up the Polymer from the outside. So, the plaster can be removed painlessly which is very beneficial e.g. for people with thin skin or wounds that are still open.
